Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder

Its pouring rain out today
People to my left and right
bitchin and complainin about the weather
if they just stood still they might
see how beautiful it really is
to see the city shrouded in a silver sky
to see your reflection in the city streets
to walk down a block with mist enveloping you in its grasp
Promising to lead you into unknown territory
The heat has receded leaving behind a coolness
coolness and calmness that only comes with rain
It purges the pungent air from the chemicals
and for a minute you don't know where you are
